FAQ
Common questions about the CRE Aptitude Test and Common Recruitment Examination
The current Civil Service Bureau format is 35 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes. It covers Deductive Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning in English, Numerical Reasoning, Data Sufficiency, and Interpretation of Tables and Graphs.
Results are either Pass or Fail. Most degree-level civil service positions require a Pass. Unlike the Use of Chinese and Use of English (which have Level 1 and Level 2), the Aptitude Test is simply pass or fail.
You may select any one or more CRE papers, subject to the arrangements announced for that sitting. Level 1 and Level 2 language-paper results and a Pass in the Aptitude Test are permanently valid. Always check the Civil Service Bureau notice for the actual date, session, and application rules.
No advanced maths is required. The test assesses basic data analysis and logical reasoning — roughly secondary school-level percentages, ratios, and chart reading. The focus is on understanding question logic, not complex calculations.
Yes. This App integrates practice questions for Use of Chinese, Use of English, and Aptitude Test — covering the entire CRE in one app. Every question includes detailed explanations to help you understand the solution logic.
